The
Capilano Suspension Bridge This
bridge, 3735 Capilano Rd, in Capilano river Regional Park spans the Capilano
river for almost 140m at a height of 70m. It's pretty impressive. However,
the suspension bridge is very popular, and the crowds can be oppressive.
You decide if you want to pay the steep admission just to walk across the
bridge. It's open from 8am till 9pm daily in summer. |

Capilano Salmon
Hatchery :
The hatchery is a fish farm run by the governement to help stop the depletion
of valuable salmon stocks. Although, you can't see the holding pools, there
are exhibits with good explanations of the whole process.
Salmon in various stages of growth are on display in tanks, and you can
see how they are channelled from the river into the hatchery when they head
upstream to spawn.
Admission is free. It's in Capilano river Regional Park, off Capilano Rd
not far north of the suspension bridge. |
